Addressing barnyard runoff in the Octoraro
In partnership with PennVest, TeamAg designed facilities to convey and store manure for dairy in the Octoraro watershed.
The long term manure storage that is planned will provide storage of agricultural wastes until the time periods when application of the nutrients is most beneficial for the crops. Additionally, cattle crossings across streams, watering facilities, and fencing are proposed to limit degradation of the stream banks and provide a buffer to protect the environmental integrity of the stream.
